The museum is housed in an ammunition bunker that opened in 2016 as Bunker Museum Jansje Schong. Located in the dunes, this bunker is part of the Atlantic Wall, the line of defense built by the German occupiers during the war. Upon entering, you immediately step into history and gain insight into the strategic importance of this location. 

Inside the museum, two rooms are filled with historical objects and exhibits. You’ll find original beach obstacles and wreckage from Allied planes. A highlight is the film room, where a moving documentary is shown about young German soldiers who had to clear mines after the war. This film offers a powerful look at the dangers and challenges they faced. An impressive experience that brings history to life.

The museum is small but packed with fascinating stories, and the volunteers are eager to share them!
